28 May, Kathmandu: The members of the National Planning Commission (NPC), the central policy making body, have not been given responsibility even after two weeks of their appointment.
It is said that the NPC Vice-chairman Prof Dr Govinda Pokhrel was not able to assign responsibility to the newly-appointed members, thanks to dispute between the ruling parties–Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN (UML).
Three persons including Vice-chairman Prof Dr Pokhrel are the NC trustee while four other NPC members are UML-aligned.
The seven divisions in the NPC include, Infrastructure Division, Social Development Division, Marco Economy Division and others.
Govinda Nepal, Chandramani Adhikari, Bharatendu Mishra, swornim Wagle, Yagna Bahadur Karki, Bimala Rai and Prem Dangal were appointed as the NPC members from the May 16 cabinet meeting.
